FAQs about Donations
Yes. Fireside Project is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 88-2124868). Your gift is fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You’ll receive an automatic email receipt for your records the moment your gift goes through.
Your donation goes directly to keeping the support line free for everyone, forever. This includes paying our supervisors, training new volunteers, keeping the phone lines and infrastructure running, letting people know about our services, and supporting the research that makes our work better.

Recurring gifts are what let us plan ahead. They mean we can hire a supervisor knowing the budget will be there in three months. They smooth out the slow seasons. And they cost us less to fundraise, so more of every dollar reaches the line.
Even $10 a month, sustained, is more useful to us than a single $100 gift. You can change or cancel any time.
Absolutely. There’s a note field on the donation page. If you’d like us to send a card to the person you’re honoring, just include their address in the note and we’ll handle the rest. Many people give in memory of someone they lost, or in honor of a guide who held them through their own first journey.
